Proclinical is seeking an Associate Director/Director, Medical Writing for an innovative pharmaceutical company located in New York, NY.
The role involves interpreting complex data and developing strategic scientific documents such as protocols, clinical study reports, manuscripts, conference abstracts, and posters for Medical Affairs, RWE/HEOR, and/or Clinical Development programs.
Must be eligible to work in the US.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret complex data and develop high-quality scientific documents.
- Attend strategic meetings as needed.
- Collaborate closely with project leads, publication leads, and biostatisticians to prioritize and manage assignments.
- Previous experience with document preparation and QC of various types is a plus.
- Develop documents in compliance with company SOPs, including timelines, review/approval workflow, and QC/publication readiness.
- Work with cross-functional teams for document acceptance and content consensus.
- Oversee outsourced medical writing projects and vendors, as required.
- Critically analyze, synthesize, and present complex information effectively.
- Drive results and ensure accountability.
Skills and Requirements:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with 5-8 years relevant experience.
- Strong current working knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment.
- Highly knowledgeable in relevant disease areas.
- Track record of developing high-quality scientific documents.
- Ability to interpret, evaluate, and communicate complex scientific and clinical data in various formats.
- Expertise in using online and other data sources for literature searches and information.
- General knowledge of drug development, approval processes, and GXP principles.
- Ability to work with cross-functional executive leadership, handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and aligned with strategy and corporate goals.
