Proclinical seeking an Associate Director, Bioinformatics Analytics Engineering for a global biotech company located in Princeton, NJ.
Must be eligible to work in the US.
Job Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, and deploying data models for various data types that support multiple use cases across different domains of the pipeline
- Solving data organization and integration challenges for legacy and future data related to data quality, format, and use of structured and unstructured data
- Being a leader in data governance, data literacy, and FAIR
- Building dashboards, user interfaces, and systems to facilitate acquisition, consumption, and interpretation of data
- Providing guidance on bioinformatics pipelines
- Innovating and advising on the latest technologies and standard methodologies in Data and Analytics Engineering and be able to identify software solutions that can address hurdles in data enablement
- Managing relationships and project coordination with external parties such as Contract Research Organizations and vendor consultants
- Defining and contributing to engineering practices for the group, including expertise in your focus area
- Collaborating with wet lab and data scientist leads to determine best-suited data enablement methods to optimize the interpretation of the data
- Applying value-balanced approaches to the development of the data ecosystem and engineering initiatives
Skills and Requirements:
- Either a BS or MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a similar field with 12 or more years of experience OR a PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or a similar field and 8 or more years of experience
- Strong knowledge in data modeling, data standards, and FAIR is a must
- Experience establishing data governance frameworks and aligning with stakeholders on data standards
- Experience with Python, R, and other programming languages
- Experience with dashboarding and user interfaces with technologies such as Shiny
- Experience working with life science data and scientific stakeholders, particularly with drug development
- Familiarity with a variety of assay and low volume procedures such as flow cytometry, cytokine, etc.
- Experience with communication among multiple stakeholders of varying scientific, engineering and IT backgrounds
- Experience working with GxP and non-GxP data a plus
