Animal Care Technician - Contract - Lexington MA

We are on the hunt for bold, innovative thinkers who are ready to help push the boundaries of science and make a tangible difference in the world.

Proclinical is seeking an Animal Care Technician to join our client's team in Lexington, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling animals, administering doses, collecting samples, and recording data within a rodent facility. Your technical expertise will support various research projects focused on diabetes and pharmaceuticals.

Skills & Requirements:

Proficiency in rodent handling and in-life measurements.
Experience in bleeding and sample collection.
Skilled in dosing animals through various administration routes (PO, IP, SC).
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Background in animal science or lab support.

The Animal Care Technician's responsibilities will be:

Handle rodents and perform in-life measurements.
Collect blood and other samples.
Administer doses via different routes such as oral (PO), intraperitoneal (IP), and subcutaneous (SC).
Conduct daily food and health checks for pharmacology studies.
Manage animal anesthesia and euthanasia processes.
Monitor animals post-procedure and post-surgery.
Collect samples and data, including necropsy and tissue collection.
Maintain stock of animal care and research supplies.
Provide technical assistance with injection administration.
Review and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance standards.

Compensation:

$15.00 -$23.00 Per Hour
