Regulatory CMC jobs

What do Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) jobs involve?

People working within regulatory CMC roles are responsible for ensuring that drugs and therapies are safe and effective for patients by understanding and interpreting the relevant regulatory requirements. Regulatory CMC professionals play an important part in whether or not a drug gains regulatory approval. Typical responsibilities are concerned with authoring, compiling and submitting various regulatory documentation. They liaise and work with various parties to produce dossier license applications for products, such as laboratory staff and CRO partners.

What skills and experience is needed for a CMC role?

To work in CMC, individuals should hold a relevant life science degree with experience in regulatory affairs. Due to the varied nature of the role, strong communication skills are just as important as thorough understanding of scientific terminology and regulatory guidelines.
