Proclinical is working with a global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and delivering life-transforming therapies for patients with devastating and rare disorders. This company is seeking a Medical Advisor to be based in London on a permanent basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continuously maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise with all diseases and products in Haematology Medicine and be acknowledged internally and externally as an expert in these areas
  • Support development and implementation a local Medical Affairs Plan and strategy, to supports, including patient groups and professional organisations.
  • Provide medical insight and strategic input to all company activities, collaborating across functions, including ensuring the highest level of medical education for all company employees to maximize patient outcomes
  • Identify and implement appropriate high-impact medical research projects to support the business objectives, including the company -sponsored and investigator-initiated projects
  • Support the implementation of high impact medical education and advise seeking activities, such as advisory boards, congress symposia, hospital meetings and speaker development programs
  • Manage requests for the company's product supply in off-label and compassionate use cases, in accordance with local and company procedures
  • Provide support for the development, review and approval of presentation materials for scientific meetings, symposia and other Medical Education activities (external).
  • Support the timely and appropriate response to Medical Information enquires, utilising global medical information resources and in line with local regulatory requirements
  • Being a champion user at PharmaScan platform, monitor and maintain company records up to
  • Ensure a close working relationship with all functions in country, including commercial operations, sales and marketing teams
  • Provide medical direction to the development of impactful scientific and medical education messages and materials within the field of Haematology
  • Review and approve promotional materials, in collaboration across functions, to ensure information is accurate, relevant to the Country environment, and in accordance with UK and Ireland Codes of Practice and local regulatory requirements
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure patient-focused activities at all times, including rapidly responding to specific internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and provide medical affairs support to all stakeholders.
  • Conduct, or participate in training programs for the commercial teams and other functions, providing medical leadership, education in line with local and global strategy and to prepare staff to handle interactions with customers
  • Agreeing required standards of nurse experience and training
  • Delivering and monitoring disease area and product specific training (in collaboration with clinical nurse specialist) and monitoring compliance with the training requirements
  • Participating in risk management/review meetings with homecare providers (in collaboration with the ass director PSPs and Med Ops) and collaborate with PV to ensure patient safety
  • Reviewing and certification of all patient materials in line with PMCPA requirements

Skills and Requirements:

  • Medical degree or advanced degree, preferably in the health care sciences
  • Relevant and significant experience in the pharmaceutical or the biotech industry (or experience with biological product)
  • Background / experience in Haematology diseases, paediatrics or genetic diseases preferred
  • Orphan diseases knowledge/experience preferred
  • Eligible for or already registered for PMST; Membership of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical
    Medicine preferred
  • Good analytical skills as applied to medical, scientific and technical information
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively evaluate medical/scientific literature and develop effective medical strategies and communication strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; second language an advantage
  • Strong project management, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Adaptability to multicultural environment.

  • Bachelor of Science or Pharmacy degree at upper second-class honours level or above with higher degree such as PhD or PharmD
