Technician

This Technician job is an exciting opportunity to join one of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies in their R&D team. This leading Swiss pharmaceutical company are currently looking to hire a Technician to be based at their site in Basel. Perform scientific experiments for the preparation and timely delivery of Medical Devices and Packaging, processes, procedures or data in collaboration with experienced team members. Contribute to maintenance of lab instruments/infrastructure.

Job Responsibilties:

• Plan perform and document routine scientific experiments/plant activities in collaboration with experienced team members. Seek proactively for support and coaching from Project Leader or Scientific Expert/or other team members during the whole process.
• Provide documentation of raw data and evaluation and interpretation of routine results.
• Optimize existing methods (lab or plant) and reproduce published methods.
• Actively support the transfer of procedures within the department.
• Recognize and communicate experimental issues. Provide input on deviations and unexpected results from experiments.
• Actively perform simple safety and literature searches under direction of relevant and experienced team members.
• Keep record of lab chemicals, intermediates, excipients and solvents within own area of responsibility.
• Collaborate with other team members to facilitate deliveries of Medical Device and Packaging. (I)
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance of instruments/equipment.
• Participate in knowledge exchange.
• Ensure all own activities are aligned with overall drug development process.
• Work according to appropriate SOPs, GMP, GLP, QM, HSE, ISEC & company Guidelines.
• Strategic and scientific contribution to Networks, target achievements according to network charter and annual objectives

Skills and Requirements:

• Technician or adequate education (EU)
• Fluent in site-language (German).
• Basic knowledge of English (oral and written) desirable.
• Adequate scientific or technical knowledge in a specific area (e.g. medical devices, packaging, synthetic, analytical, Galenical).
• Basics knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools.
• Basic knowledge of software and computer tools
