A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Supply Chain Specialist with an internationally renowned pharmaceutical company, based in their California office. This organization is known for its solid commercial portfolio of life-saving drugs within a number of therapy areas, along with a growing pipeline of investigational drugs and an unmatched patient access program. Job Responsibilities:

  • Being Responsible for midterm to long-term network MPS in monthly buckets (months 4 - 36).
  • Monitoring demand forecast, managing inventory levels, and ensuring changes are aligned with network supply plans.
  • Implementing supply chain modelling to support budgeting process, maintain planning parameters, evaluate demand scenarios, and define sourcing strategies
  • Proposing safety stock levels throughout the drug product supply chain and working with API supply chain to ensure alignment of inventory across DP and API.
  • Working with API supply chain to ensure long range API purchase plans support master production plan and resolving issues where they may arise.
  • Mapping market/product demand to SKUs and DCs.
  • Overseeing rough cut capacity planning and monthly evaluation against existing capacity models to ensure feasible plans.
  • Leading and supporting monthly Supply and Management meetings to present network MPS and changes per planning cycle.
  • Ensuring Annual stability plans are met.
  • Representing Global Supply Chain on CMC and CCPR teams to ensure changes will be implemented in a strategic and timely manner.
  • Managing all changes and assessing impact to supply chain to ensure no interruption to patient supply.
  • Managing NPI introductions and ensuring all launch timelines are met.
  • Being responsible for short term execution of the network plan (next 3 months) and resolving supply issues in short term.
  • Being responsible for short-term network inventory balancing.
  • Providing monthly forecast (18month) to CMOs.
  • Leading and attending weekly reviews with CMOs and other relevant departments.
  • Allocating APIs to production plans & supporting master production plans/resolving issues where they may arise.
  • Managing relationships with other departments (i.e. quality, mfg., AO, logistics, etc.) to resolve supply issues.
  • Processing changes in the ERP system to reflect schedule adjustments according to production progress, change orders, or other delaying conditions.
  • Ensuring that open Work Order are in sync with associated Purchase Orders.

Skills and Requirements:

  • At least a BS or BA, though an MA/MBA is preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in related field with a BS or BA or 3+ years of relevant experience with a MA/MBA.
  • Prior experience in Supply Planning/Production scheduling/S&OP process using advanced planning solution like Kinaxis (most preferred), JDA, or SAP.
  • Experience with manufacturing/planning in biotechnology, pharma, or process industry
  • Strong communication skills and able to lead and support supply and management meetings and coordinate with plants/CMO managers
  • Advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and other reporting and tracking tools.
  • Experience with advanced planning systems like Kinaxis, RapidResponse, or any other ERP desired.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance, including pharmaceutical GMPs and ICH Q7A.
  • Demonstable understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and proficiency across multiple practices within Supply Chain department, to understand, coordinate, and communicate across the competing demands of each.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
