Sr. Research Associate II - Discovery Virology

Proclinical, in support of our client, are seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the role of Sr. Research Associate II - Discovery Virology, Biology, based in Foster City, CA.

• Design, perform and validate novel cell-based virology and immunology assays, evaluating new targets and therapeutic approaches in a fast-paced team environment.
• Interpret results, proactively troubleshooting technical issues and recommending potential solutions based on personal observations and/or literature searches.
• Plan and execute assigned experiments that support research activities and project goals.
• Select appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments.
• Recognize anomalous and inconsistent results, and interpret experimental outcomes.
• Recommend alternatives, research new methods and techniques and may proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.
• Participate in cross-functional group meetings.
• Present results of work, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.

Skills And Qualifications

• BS/BA in related life science discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience OR MS in related scientific discipline with 3+ years industry experience.
• Hands-on experience in cell culture and/or virology techniques.
• Strong organizational skills and data management.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
