Proclinical is working with a radiation oncology company that is seeking a Senior Manager Patient Access and Market Development to be home based in Geneva or Germany. The Senior Manager Patient Access and Health Economics develops and implements initiatives and activities which successfully communicate clinical and economic evidence supporting company technologies and services, including analytics, assessment of policy impacts, development of customer and payer facing economic tools, and commercial value messaging. The Senior Manager will also engage in payer and government focused lobbying and advocacy efforts in conjunction with KOLs and distributors in target regions. Working in collaboration with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales and external consultants, the Senior Manager establishes Health Economic goals to drive reimbursement, ensure share of market and profitability of products and services. This position will report to the Senior Director of Patient Access.

Job Responsibitlies:

  • Build and maintain advanced understanding of EIMEA healthcare market mechanisms, payer and provider trends, health policy, medical technology, and reimbursement trends in order to inform strategic decision making with respect to healthcare economics and advocacy needs.
  • In collaboration with Medical Affairs and KOLs, develop payer focused health economics and outcomes research data to obtain or protect reimbursement for company technologies to support installed base, strategically important growth markets, and in accordance with the company Product Roadmap.
  • Develop and extend public private partnership projects.
  • Develop customer focused tools that feature economic, market trend, and competitive analysis data to demonstrate the company Advantage.
  • Identify data/evidence gaps for each priority product, and design HEOR and advocacy strategies to fill gaps in order to support market access, reimbursement, and brand strategies.
  • Direct the work of outside consultants to accomplish the goals of the organization, including lobby governments and payers to protect or obtain reimbursement in strategically important markets.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with key knowledge and opinion leaders (KOLs) and academic researchers throughout the advocacy and research/dissemination cycle.
  • Continually refine the understanding of company products and brand strategies, and the value propositions needed to support these strategies.
  • Educate the company on key principles of data and analytics, technology assessment, evidence-based medicine, healthcare policy and economics, payer decision making and other concepts within the discipline of patient access, health economics and market access.

Skills and Requirements:

  • BS degree (MA, MBA, MS or equivalent a plus) in biomedical HEOR, technology assessment, health policy, reimbursement or related field and minimum 7 years of experience in the healthcare field, ideally with innovative, high cost, high technology products.
  • Advanced understanding of and ability to use evidence to support value propositions.
  • Understanding of public and commercial payers, technology assessment bodies, and government funding processes. Relevant knowledge of and experience in emerging markets is a plus.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to develop positive business relationships with all functional areas within the company as well as the medical community and the company's customers.
  • Effective presentation skills are required; knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.
  • Must understand the necessity and value of teamwork; ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused; must have knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Strong results orientation and ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Fluency in English and at least one additional EIMEA language is desired.
