Senior Director, Global Medical Information

Proclinical, in support of our client, are seeking an individual to fill the role of Senior Director, Global Medical Information, based in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will function as the Head of Global Medical Information and set the strategic vision of the global Medical Information department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage Global Medical Information Team and the medical information call centers.
• Lead team to develop and deliver a global strategic medical information plan.
• Expand current team responsibilities from one disease area to multiple disease areas
• Supervise a team of medical information and operations professionals to create and maintain a product knowledge database.
• Understand and implement industry leading technology solutions and multi-channel methods of communication.
• Develop and maintain department-specific standard operating procedures.
• Ensure systems and processes for adverse event reporting are aligned to company processes.
• Develop and manage department budget.
• Vendor and contractor management including performance, quality, and budget oversight
• Guide team to participate in cross-functional, strategic, product meetings to represent GMI and relevant trends and insights.
• Lead development/enhancement and implementation of policies, procedures, and processes.
• Support the development and training of relevant team employees.
• Participate in management development and training initiatives.
• Develop/maintain metrics on key business processes.

Skills and Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related field (doctorate level preferred) and 10+ years of experience in medical information.
• Medical Affairs pharmaceutical industry experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of Medical Information Industry guidelines and practices.
• Experience with implementing innovative technology solutions and multi-channel communications.
• Current working knowledge the legal, regulatory and compliance regulations and guidelines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to think broadly about medical information and the needs/impact of these medical communications to healthcare provers/patients.
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships with internal colleagues
• Experience in launch planning and execution of launch related Medical information tactics.
• Demonstrated success in developing and building teams; coaching/developing direct reports.
