A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company is seeking to recruit a QC Scientist to their office in the UK. The organisation develops next generation, programmed T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer and pride themselves on their broad suite of proprietary and modular T cell programming technologies. This position presents a fantastic opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic scientist to join an innovative company that is committed to delivering high quality products for use in clinical trial programmes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Qualify methods and processes to ensure their suitability for use in support of Clinical Trial Manufacturing.
  • Support Clinical Trial manufacturing through provision of QC testing.
  • Design and execute supporting QC stability programmes.
  • Develop QC assays suitable for product release or characterisation.
  • Author development reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Assist in technology transfer into the Product Delivery group.
  • Work with external QC service providers.
  • Supervise staff or students as necessary.
  • Select and purchase appropriate QC laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in Equipment Qualification.
  • Any other duties as required following consultation with the post holder.
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidance.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Higher degree in Biology/Biomedical Science/Immunology/Haematology/Pharmacology or
  • related discipline.
  • 8 years' experience in a GMP field.
  • Directly relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience of working in a busy laboratory environment is desirable, although full training
  • will be provided.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with quality and regulatory guidance governing
  • biopharmaceutical development.
  • Familiarity with a range of biopharmaceutical and cell-based techniques.
  • Good understanding of cell biology and immunology.
  • Experience of working in a busy laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
