This organisation is a leading biopharmaceutical company focusing on the development of a new class of therapeutic drugs for the treatment of solid cancers. They are currently looking to hire a Procurement Specialist to be based in Leicester, UK.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting all facets of procurement of commercial medications and related clinical supply projects, especially outside of the US.
- Requesting pricing and other information from manufacturers and suppliers.
- Placing orders with manufacturers and suppliers as per direction from Director, International Supply Services, Managing Director and/or appropriate company Project Managers.
- Ensuring all requirements are clearly communicated to supplier/manufacturer to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Proactively follow up on purchase orders with suppliers/manufacturers prior to ship date.
- Keeping accurate notes on communications from suppliers/manufacturers.
- Confirming storage conditions (temperature, hazard, etc.) prior to shipment.
- Communicating logistics requirements to manufacturers and suppliers as needed as per direction from operations or other departments.
- Liaison between manufacturers and suppliers and the company's project managers.
- Provide suggestions on how to improve procurement related processes to add value to the company.
- Managing any recalled material to make sure it's returned to vendors or manufacturers and credits are received.
- Communicating with QA and other departments to make sure all are properly updated.
Skills and Requirement:
- University degree or equivalent professional procurement qualification and relevant business experience required.
- Experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry desirable.
- Communication, Organisational skills, Team player, Project Management, Planning, Conflict Resolution, Multi-Tasking, and Innovative.
- Major areas include Project Management, Procurement and working with Operations to coordinate logistics.
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication, collaboration, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Good organisational skills, including efficiency, strategic thinking, manages complexity, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Competent computer skills: Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email, Lotus Notes, etc.
