A multinational contract research organisation (CRO) is advertising a vacancy for a Principle/Senior Statistician. The organisation provides a wide range of clinical development services across all research phases and therapeutic areas and has been instrumental in the success of hundreds of Phase I-IV clinical trials throughout the Asia Pacific region. Based in the organisation's Australian office, this position is an excellent opportunity to work with an esteemed CRO that strives to set the benchmark for both business and clinical trial performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing, analysing, reviewing, and interpreting clinical trial data.
  • Reviewing available literature and implementing appropriate statistical methods.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory agency guidelines in study design and protocol development.
  • Reviewing and/or preparing statistical sections of study synopses, protocols, and study reports.
  • Preparing sample size estimations and justifications.
  • Reviewing case report forms and data management plans to ensure efficient and accurate collection of data.
  • Preparing randomisation specifications and schedules and liaising with EDC vendors, or third parties, to set up IWRS/IVRS randomisation.
  • Preparing and writing statistical analysis plans.
  • Interacting with project managers, data managers, and clients from start-up through to close-out.
  • Providing methodological advice to team and client.
  • Ensuring quality of statistical data and reports generated.
  • Presenting findings to internal/external clients as required.
  • Assisting Business Development in forecasting Statistic resource needs for new study bids.

Skills and Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD with a major in statistics/biostatistics or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Biostatistician within a pharmaceutical company or CRO.
  • Proficiency with standard statistical packages including SAS and R.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
