Principal Software Engineer

Proclinical is currently seeking a Principal Software Engineer for a biotechnology company located in Redwood City, CA. Successful candidate will work with contract engineering firm to maintain the SW of the system.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work on multiple projects, including developing future generation SW system and maintaining current SW system.
• Own SW system architecture and SW requirements lead internal and external teams on SW design and development.
• Help shape the company cloud computing, AI and data analytic strategy.
• Define company-wide strategy and standardize CI/CD process for SW/FW.
• Mentor SW team on architecture design and cutting-edge SW technology, lead design review and setup coding standard.
• Work closely with hardware team to conduct Software/firmware/hardware integration.
• Define and review software and hardware verification and validation test plan.

Skills and Requirements:

• BS in in CS/EE/BME or equivalent.
• 6+ years of direct experience developing software for medical devices and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with .Net/C# or Java, and C++, and 1+ scripting language such as Python or Java Script.
• Experience with Cloud Computing, web development and Cybersecurity technology.
• Experience with DevOps technology.
• Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with SW requirements gathering, software architecture, coding, code review, unit testing, integration testing and functional testing.
• Experience in developing SW for medical device from concept through product launch.
• Experience with SW Development Life Cycle and medical device design control process and change control process.
• Experience with SW system debugging and system test automation.
• Experience to integrate SW with FW and HW.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with software development for robotics, electromechanical systems, motion control.
• Experience with Embedded MCU development or FPGA development.
• Experience with Machine Learning and Data Analysis framework.
• Experience with imaging systems.
• Experience with HIPAA and GDPR.
