Currently employing around 120 people across the globe the company is enjoying an excellent period of growth and we are hiring for a Senior Recruitment Consultant to join our team in London.

As a Senior member of the team, you will be working in a business development role and will be tasked with building relationships with clients and candidates to give you a better understanding of individual recruitment needs, with the aim of placing c-suite level candidates into positions across Europe thereby increasing market presence and generating growth and revenue for the company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Generate increased revenue and market presence for the company by generating new clients and carrying out high value placements for existing clients within the specified vertical of Medical Affairs;
  • Working towards and exceeding targets that may relate to the number of candidates placed, a value to be billed to clients or business leads generated;
  • Market mapping within the life sciences industry to establish opportunities for business development and placements for clients and specifically, market mapping emerging biotech clients in the EU and US and conducting weekly presentations to the Board including Head of Client Services;
  • To develop leads for new business and conduct business development with new clients by agreeing working agreements and establishing terms of business;
  • Accountability for junior team members which includes:
    • Mentoring junior team members on candidate engagement;
    • Developing junior team members' skillset in job qualification, advertising, headhunting, Boolean searching, candidate qualification and interview preparation;
    • Generating new business for junior team members;
  • To establish an excellent and professional relationship with existing and new clients to understand their recruitment requirements;
  • Manages client accounts within Medical Affairs which includes:
    • Utilising internal and external resources to identify and approach suitable candidates for the client's vacancy (including headhunting);
    • Reviewing applications, managing interviews, shortlisting candidates for the client and checking the suitability of shortlisted candidates;
    • Preparing CVs and correspondence of suitable applicants to discuss with clients;
    • Briefing candidates about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job in question;
    • Organising interviews for candidates as requested by the client; and
    • Informing candidates about the results of their interviews.
  • Negotiating terms of employment including salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidates; and
  • Advising clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven success within a life science recruitment role;
  • Previous experience and success in developing business across the EU and the US;
  • Proven success in developing business for both contingent and executive/retained search recruitment solutions, globally;
  • Good sales, persuasion and negotiation skills; and
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
