PC Tech Specialist

An exciting job vacancy has emerged for a PC Tech Specialist to join one of the world's largest global CROs. This contract research organisation provides support services to many of the biggest names in pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices and health care, and has helped to commercialise many leading therapies. This position will be based at their UK site on a contract basis.

Job Responsibilties:

• Provides senior level technical support and maintenance of Windows based desktops. Researches new technologies and recommends changes to established procedures and standards.
• Modifies, maintains, and/or creates images for loading Operating System and standard IMS software on company desktops and laptops.
• Automates software installations of commercial and IMS developed software using software installation tools. Consults with lower level staff and systems support team to analyse and resolve networking, hardware, and software issues.
• Supervises, cross trains, and mentors lower level PC Tech Specialists.
• Implements tiering of PCs to power users and users with lower processing requirements.
• Works in conjunction with Telecommunications, LAN Administration, and management to resolve complex problems and develop solutions for end users.
• Centrally administers some software applications. Solicits feedback on satisfaction from customer base. Documents departmental processes and procedures.

Skills and Requirements:

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years' experience or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
• Strong oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must work well in a team environment and be customer focused.
• Strong technical background in Windows Operating Systems, hardware and software, and networking.
