Proclinical is currently seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison for a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that focuses on drug development for patients with rare diseases and cancer. Successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with medical thought leaders and healthcare professionals involved in various phases of product development as well as key treatment centers of excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders and establish and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs in Oncology, Genetics and Neurology.
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.
  • Communicate experts' opinion, feedback on new data and clinical trends to Medical Affairs and translate this information into strategic recommendations.
  • Act as primary liaison to investigators interested in research.
  • Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with regional and national strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Operations organization for clinical trials by identifying appropriate clinical trial sites, supporting clinical trial awareness and interacting with ongoing studies.
  • Serve as a Medical Affairs lead for disease state and outcomes-based product presentations.
  • Provide scientific support at medical congresses and staff disease state booths.
  • Serve as mentor for other new hire and/or less-experienced MSLs.
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with company policies and SOPs.

Skills and Requirements

  • MD, PhD, PharmD or DNP in health sciences or related field.
  • 7 years of MSL and/or Medical Affairs industry experience required.
  • Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in Oncology, Neurology and/or genetic diseases.
  • Experience in developing & presenting health economic & outcomes data.
  • Office is home-based. Approximately 50-60% travel is required; overnight travel is required as needed.
  • Candidate is required to live within the territory with which he/she liaises.
  • Valid driver's license required and must be in good standing.
  • Experience in rare disease and oncology is preferred.
