Medical Director

Proclinical is working with a leading integrated biopharmaceutical company that is seeking a Medical Director to be based in Boston or in Massachusetts on a permanent basis. As a member of the NA medical affairs team this person will provide state of the art medical expertise and medical leadership for New Products.

Job Responsibilties:

• Lead the NA medical strategy and provide medical leadership and contribution for New Products
• Provide subject matter medical expertise for New Products and applicable disease areas/indications and serve as a key resource for internal and external stakeholder engagement
• Organize and conduct NA national and regional advisory board meetings
• Determine strategies for KOL engagement plans, including events and activities at congresses, symposia and speaker events, all the while ensuring high scientific value and integrity
• Accountable for the North American New Products Medical Plans including publications, and the strategy for investigator-initiated studies and phase IV studies
• Ensure consistency and approval of medical content and scientific messages by participating as a member of the NA PSMR team
• Collaborate with Director - Medical Operations and Director - MSL Team on an ongoing basis
• Collaborate with Scientific Affairs and Global Medical affairs to provide disease state content and product specific medical content for training purposes
• Provide medical review and contribution to applicable Regulatory, Drug Safety, Market Access and Reimbursement documents
• Collaborate with Commercial and Market Access functions to ensure alignment on product plans
• Collaborate with AD Clinical Operations NA and Global Clinical Operations in the execution of the New Products Life Cycle Plan (LCM)

Skills and Requirements:

• MD required
• Medical & Scientific insight into relevant area - New Products
• 5-10 years of industry experience, 5 years at the Medical Director Level
• Clinical and academic scientific experience an asset
• Medical technical leadership including skill set in medical affairs, clinical development, drug safety, and product launch experience
• Strong customer orientation, science based and with high business acumen
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Results oriented and delivery focused
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Sense of accountability and ownership with an ability to work independently
• Entrepreneurial, driven and engaged
• Flexible and able to operate in a quickly changing environment
• Medical ethical integrity
• Prioritization and time management skills
