ProClinical, in support of our client, are seeking an individual to fill the role of Medical Communications Lead, based in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high quality resources that communicate scientific data on products and therapeutic areas of interest while adhering to internal guidelines, SOPs, policies and industry regulations.


  • Provide support in the creation of abstracts, posters, presentations and educational materials for use by field medical, and scientific training curriculum across multiple disciplines.
  • Execute regional congress deliverables, disease state education programs and develop and adapt scientific content for materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, including medical and clinical program leads and regional leads on content development.
  • Support content development of advisory boards.
  • Review field-based promotional and educational materials for scientific accuracy.
  • Evaluate, revise and edit abstracts, posters, papers, review articles, oral presentations, etc. for external publication.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, external authors and scientific/medical communications agencies.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs colleagues on congress content and key activities.
  • Manage budget use of vendors for project-based content development.
  • Prepare project-associated budgets and timelines.

Skills And Qualifications

  • PharmD or PhD in a pharmaceutical science strongly preferred or MA and 5 years of clinical or industry experience or BA and 7 years of clinical or industry experience.
  • 2 years of experience in the bio/pharmaceutical industry experience or related experience.
  • Experience in writing and presenting on scientific and clinical data.
  • Strong understanding of current good publication practices (CMPP preferred).
  • Understand scientific communications projects including disease state education programs, advisory boards and congress/publication plans.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior experience of successfully managing consultants and vendors.
  • Understand the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the regulatory and legal guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products.
  • Project management experience.
  • Active involvement in publications forums.
