A new job opportunity has arisen for an exciting Medical Advisor- Neurology position to join one of the largest CROs in the global market, that specialises in technological advancements and access to real-world data. Proclinical is advertising this position for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join this exciting company's office based in Italy, though there is opportunity to work remotely and from anywhere in the EU.
The Medical Advisor will provide medical, clinical, and scientific advice to all company divisions as requested, as well as participating in all aspects of Medical Science for the clinical trials they are assigned to. They will serve as a medical expert during project delivery lifecycle and provide therapeutic and medical expertise to business development activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serving as a Global or Regional Medical Advisor on assigned projects.
- Serving as a Scientific Advisor and providing guidance to Project Leaders on the medical and scientific aspects of assigned studies.
- Providing medical support to investigative sites and project staff for protocol-related issues, including protocol clarifications, inclusion/exclusion determinations, and issues of patient safety and/or eligibility.
- Performing medical analysis of the protocol, Investigative Drug Brochure (IDB), and/or Case Report Forms (CRFs).
- Providing therapeutic area/indication training for the project clinical team.
- Taking part in and presenting at Investigator Meetings and bid defences.
- Performing reviews and clarifications of trial-related Adverse Events (AEs).
- Performing medical case review of Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) and adverse event coding.
- Providing medical support for the Analysis of Similar Events (AOSE), in collaboration with or on behalf of the Pharmacovigilance department.
- Performing reviews of the Clinical Study Report (CSR) and patient narratives.
- Attending Kick-Off meetings, weekly team meetings, and client meetings, as needed or requested.
- Providing expert advice to medically sound delivery strategies for multi-region studies in partnership with sales and other functions.
- Responsible for the development of the medically related aspects of client proposals including the budget related to medical monitoring.
- Providing medical and scientific advice to key internal partners developing proposals; this may include, but is not limited to, reviewing the protocol for scientific/regulatory soundness and feasibility, identifying target sites and principal investigator profiles, anticipating patient recruitment, and ensuring a standard of care and competitive landscape.
- Participating in strategic new business activities, including presentations to prospective clients.
- Maintaining an awareness of industry development and author related publications.
- May serve as Regional/Multiregional/Global Therapeutic Lead for specific indications.
Skills and Requirements:
- At least a bachelor's degree, though equivalent experience/qualifications will also be considered.
- Demonstrable experience with serving as a Medical/Scientific Advisor.
- Demonstrable experience in providing medical support to company sites.
- Solid experience with developing proposals and interacting with medical/scientific protocols in a clinical trial context.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational skills; an ability to work independently and in a team.
- Confidence, self-reliance, and quick learning skills all desirable attributes.
- Good oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Italian. Any other European languages a bonus.
