A leading pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device capability company is currently recruiting a Lab Tech I, Flow Academy. The organisation provides comprehensive platform capabilities in small molecule R&D and manufacturing, biologics R&D and manufacturing, and cell and gene therapy R&D. The Lab Tech will join this company in their office in Pennsylvania. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated applicant to develop a career in a truly revolutionary field.

The Lab Tech I will perform basic protein-based assays according to and in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and/or Points to Consider (PTC) guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Under direct supervision, they will Test Methods and other required documentation and performs laboratory maintenance duties according to GLP, cGMP, CFR and/or PTC guidelines and SOPs. They will also perform additional Research & Development activities as assigned by Management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing basic Analytical assays and lab procedures using appropriate laboratory techniques and in compliance with GLP, cGMP, PTC, and SOPs.
  • Accurately completing Test Methods and other required documentation according to and in compliance with GLP, cGMP, CFR, PTC guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Following all general and laboratory SOPs.
  • Reporting observations of ongoing tests to Technical Reviewer, Supervisor, and/or Department Manager.
  • Communicating with supervisor and other colleagues re: daily lab activities
  • Preparing reagents and completes reagent batch records.
  • Checking reagents for expired chemicals and disposes of any expired reagents.
  • Performing laboratory maintenance (i.e. decontaminates and disposes of medical and other waste as appropriate, maintains laboratory supply inventories, keeps work surfaces clean and neat), and keeps records of maintenance according to guidelines and SOPs.
  • Performing routine equipment monitoring and cleaning (i.e. centrifuges, biosafety and chemical hoods, refrigerators, incubators and freezers) and keeping records according to guidelines and SOPs.
  • Ordering reagents and consumables as required and uses commodity specification procedure as assigned.
  • Completing all requisite training (i.e. Bloodborne Pathogen, Quality Assurance, safety, etc.)

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Biological Sciences or other science-related major.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of protein-based assays.
  • Ability to use proficiently basic laboratory equipment, such as, but not limited to, centrifuges, plate readers, micropipettes, biological safety cabinets, etc.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
