Proclinical is currently recruiting for a Junior Scientist for an early-stage preclinical life sciences company located in San Francisco, CA. Successful candidate will design and conduct independent laboratory experiments following defined laboratory technical procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret data from experiments, write reports, present findings to team.
  • Use basic chemical biology techniques and biomaterial purification.
  • Use sterile technique for handling and growing mammalian cells and biomaterials.
  • Prepare cell or material samples for biochemical analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized laboratory records, worksheets, and notebooks.
  • Maintain compliance to company Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Skills and Requirements:

  • BS in chemistry, chemical or bio(medical) engineering, biology, or related fields.
  • 2+ years prior experience in chemical / biological laboratory experimentation.
  • Highly organized and independently motivated worker with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, presentations, and statistics - Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings to laypersons.
  • Strong understanding of scientific concepts and biological processes.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing, data recording practices, and safety procedures.
  • Passion & integrity, humility & confidence, resilience in the face of adversity, resourcefulness.
  • Proven track record of ability to conduct research with strong attention to detail.
  • Prior experience working with biomaterials and bioorthogonal/click chemistry.
  • Prior experience with fluorescence studies and HPLC.
  • Experience with basic organic chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Experience with in vitro models including mammalian cell culture and bacteria.
