HISTOTECHNOLOGIST

Proclinical is currently seeking a Histotechnologist for a pharmaceutical company located in Somerville, MA. Successful candidate will be a part of a dynamic team of researchers in a translational tumor immunology laboratory.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing basic histology procedures.
• Accomplishing routine H&E staining using automated equipment.
• Performing routine scanning of stained slides.
• Filing, organizing, and maintaining tissue specimens, FFPE blocks, and stained slides.
• Completing training or applying skills to provide support of automated IHC, IF, and RNA ISH staining. Supporting quality control testing of biobank tissue specimens.
• Working with biorepository personnel to help maintain proper documentation, archiving, and routine quality control on all generated specimens and data.
• Maintaining adequate stock and efficient use of supplies necessary for performing all procedures, and preparation of reagents as required.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment following established SOP/ROP guidelines and assisting with identification and execution of process improvements.
• Assisting in developing and implementing best practices.
• Ensuring and maintaining integrity and quality of the specimens.

Skills and Requirements:

• Minimum BS degree in a biological or life science.
• 2+ years of relevant clinical or research experience in a histology laboratory.
• Strong background in histology techniques.
• ASCP certification (or equivalent) is desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Some experience with automated immunohistochemistry (IHC) is desirable.
