A leading pharmaceutical client is searching for an EMEA Scientific Advisor to join their team in London. The company specialises in various therapy areas including oncology, neurology and gastroenterology, and employs several thousand across the globe.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To provide specialist care focused scientific and technical support to European medical affairs and marketing activities for epilepsy products and to support/prepare pre-launch/ post-launch activities where necessary.
  • Take responsibility for key projects at the EMEA level.
  • To design, implement and manage EEL sponsored Phase IV studies and data generation within European markets and coordinate affiliate generated data review and approval process (IIT) for Epilepsy products
  • To develop and manage advocacy plan
  • Provision of scientific support to medical and marketing activities as required (e.g. promotional copy design, brand reviews, market research, advisory boards, support to EU affiliates)
  • Provision of scientific and medical support in the preparation of dossiers for pricing & reimbursement and/or health technology appraisal
  • Development and management of non-promotional support materials
  • Support the development of the EMEA medical plan
  • Work closely with market access teams on appropriate activities to support rapid and unrestricted reimbursement.
  • Medical affairs support for life cycle management
  • Symposia planning including development of agenda, suggestion of potential speakers
  • Liaison with communications agencies
  • Review of slides and liaison with presenting faculty
  • Organization of all technical and other matters relating to symposia including faculty dinner

Skills and Requirements:

  • GMC or GPhC registered
  • Proven clinical and industry experience in medical affairs, preferably in CNS/Neurology
  • Sufficient experience in pharmaceutical industry to be competent to conduct similar activities as in section 4 on an affiliate level basis is preferred
  • Strong team player able to work across cultures with different affiliates. Comfortable working in matrix environment and closely with the commercial team
  • Good project management skills
  • Effective design and management of post-marketing studies
  • Good critical appraisal skills of data and trials
  • Flair for creativity, new ideas and solutions
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Effective time manager able to commit to deadlines
  • Confident and assertive in dealings with agencies / Key Opinion Leaders /internal stakeholders
  • Flexibility, adaptability and proactive nature in order to meet the various demands and priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent English required
  • Willing to travel
