Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for an EHS Compliance Director with a leading biopharmaceutical company. The organisation specialises in various therapy areas, including oncology, neuroscience, and rare disease fields, and is seeking for a driven individual to join them in their office in Slough. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an internationally renowned company and support their innovative impact on the healthcare field.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control the global Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Program in line with annual objectives, facilitates periodic reporting sites and Group entities. Propose objectives in relation to the objectives of the divisions. Participate in the update of the multi-year roadmap plans and associated charters.
  • Manage and coordinate the non-financial reporting of Group EHS performance with other internal partners and stakeholders (Ethics and Compliance, Corporate Communication, Purchasing, Risk Management). Consolidate the company's EHS information.
  • Update annually the Registration Document as required by the French government with EHS data and descriptions of performance improvements as well as other regulatory submittal documents.
  • Improve the overall reporting of EHS data by developing and providing appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain the company's EHS Legal Register within the company's EHSphere system. Ensure consistency between the Corporate EHS Legal Register and site legal registers.
  • Manage and control the global Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Internal Audit Program in line with annual objectives and five-year audit plan.
  • Facilitate and manage periodic reporting sites performance. Track and report closure of CAPA. Manage and follow up CAPA that are behind schedule and ensure timely resolution.
  • Improve the overall reporting of EHS data by developing and providing appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manages EHS Group-wide projects relating to the implementation and improvement of EHS Compliance programs as required by the business.
  • Revises and develops the company's Group's EHS governance including policies, standards, and other documents.
  • Ensures alignment, understanding and implementation of programs and standards within sites and Group entities.
  • Develops appropriate EHS training programs and integrates these programs within the Learning Management System at the corporate level.
  • Develops and conducts global EHS regulatory oversight.
  • Develop and provide training programs and communications, as required.
  • Determine and perform mandatory notifications ECHA under REACH and CLP.
  • Anticipate and monitor EHS future regulations in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Contribute to external groups on emerging issues (eg EFPIA efforts regarding REACH and Pharmaceuticals in the Environment PIE).
  • Develop, implement and manage EHS regulatory data management systems.
  • Participate as needed in the company's Group due diligence efforts.
  • Manage EHS Group-wide ISO certification and maintenance projects. Follow and update five-year Group certification program.
  • Revise and develop the company's Group's EHS ISO governance including policies, standards, and other documents. Ensures that the company's EHS governance is in line with ISO requirements and current standards.
  • Develop appropriate EHS training programs and integrates these programs within the Learning Management System.
  • Develop and implement and manage EHS ISO data management systems.
  • Establish budgets related to EHS compliance needs and projects. These budgets are presented to senior leadership teams for agreement and approval ultimately by the company's Group.
  • Manage and execute compliance projects and maintain the budget approved.
  • Report quarterly and as otherwise required EHS financial status.
  • Assist and support site EHS with budget management as relates to corporate and local EHS compliance projects and ongoing program maintenance.
  • Present budget and projects to management teams as required in order to solidify annual EHS budgets.

Skills and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of degree in EHS, science or engineering is required. An advanced degree in management, an EHS technical field, science or engineering field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of workplace Environment, Health and Safety leadership experience is required.
  • Good understanding of global EHS regulations and issues is required.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
