A vacancy for a New Business Development, Director, position has emerged with a company that specialises in providing commercial intelligence for the pharmaceutical industry. ProClinical is advertising this vacancy for a talented individual to join the company's UK-based team.
The New Business Development, Director will take responsibility for all new client acquisition in a designated territory and business segment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifying new opportunities and selling the company's products & services to prospective clients.
- Collaborating with New Business Sales and Client Success team members to manage the assigned territory and business segment, following the strategic territory business plan to identify, selling to and closing prospective clients, and achieving the assigned quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Engaging with stakeholders at a senior and C-Suite level at the prospective client to acquire new business and win new accounts.
- Presenting and demonstrating the company's products in an effective manner to prospective clients.
- Preparing timely price quotations for prospective clients.
- Generating qualified leads via telemarketing, email, social media, on-site meetings, and effective management and qualification of all Marketing generated leads.
- Meeting target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for activity levels, prospecting, on-site sales meetings, and pipeline development.
- Accurate and consistent forecasting.
- Proactive and timely management of the prospective client's experience during the sales process to move the sales opportunity through the sales funnel.
- Providing regular communication and updates on all relevant sales opportunities for company management.
- Making entry of all account, contacts, and prospecting activities into the company's CRM system.
- Prospective client on-site meetings, attending conferences, joining associations and networking with peers and associates to generate valuable connections.
- Meeting or exceeding assigned sales objectives and targets.
- Working with the Client Success Team to facilitate a strong implementation process.
- Aligning and selling the company propositions to prospective client's personal, role business problems, and challenges.
Skills and Requirements:
- A degree-level education, or demonstrably equivalent business experience.
- At least 5 years of sales experience in New Business Development and/or Account Management.
- Proven success in fostering value-based relationships and a skill set enabling successful relationships with numerous levels within the business hierarchy.
- An ability to navigate a complex sales process.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills, including communication, persuasion, presentation, written/oral/listening skills, and collaboration.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Demonstrable experience with selling to Pharmaceutical, Consulting, or Life Science industries.
- A solid understanding of how analysis and information supports Pharma and Biotech business processes and decisions.
- Excellent English, with proficiency in another European language a bonus.
- A self-motivating mindset, with strong work ethics and integrity.
- Results driven with an ability to execute and prove track record of position outcomes.
- An ability to explain complex financial concepts in simplified terms.
- An ability to consider global issues and their local impact, and provide guidance to team members accordingly.
