Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for a Biostatistician - EMEA position with an international contract research organisation. The company, which provides drug discovery, lifecycle management, and laboratory services, is seeking for a driven and talented individual to join their company in a home-based capacity. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that provides innovative ideas behind multiple pharmaceutical sectors.

The Biostatistician - EMEA will act as the lead statistician on projects of moderate to large size and complexity whilst supporting other lead statisticians on very large, complex studies. The role may also include staff management and project management responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading a project team by conducting team meetings, maintaining project timelines, assessing resources needed, providing resources, and preparing the budget.
  • Ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are being followed and that appropriate project documentation is continuously implemented.
  • Coordinating with programmers and data management personnel to oversee database maintenance, updating, and documentation.
  • Providing guidance for database structures for analysis.
  • Creating or providing specifications for analysis databases based on Data Management database.
  • Providing sample size calculations and reviewing protocols for completeness, appropriateness of clinical design, and sound statistical analysis.
  • Providing randomization schemes and appropriate documentation.
  • Developing statistical analysis plans, including table and listing specifications, and guiding others on the team in its implementation.
  • Programming/validating statistical tables with an emphasis on efficacy endpoints.
  • Providing proper documentation and overseeing the work of others who assist in programming/validating.
  • Preparing and reviewing reports.
  • Contributing to the statistical methods section and verifying for completeness and consistency for reports.
  • Interacting with sponsors on all aspects of the project.
  • Understanding project budgets as they relate to project work scope and communicating proactively with management concerning potential changes in work scope.

Skills and Requirements:

  • An MS/MA degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years experience required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong SAS programming skills and a thorough understanding of database structures.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical principles and strong statistical skills.
  • Proven performance of required tasks, as evidenced in outstanding performance in current tasks and/or documented record of accomplishments.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
