Bench Scientist I (Upstream)

A large global pharmaceutical company with leading products across various therapeutic areas is looking to hire a Bench Scientist I (Upstream). This role will be based at the company's Pennsylvania office. The organisation develops innovative products across multiple therapy areas including cardiovascular, oncology, and respiratory, and employs 100,000 staff globally.

Job Responsibilities:

• Executing activities for the manufacture of clinical supply of investigational biopharmaceutical molecules.
• Performing hands-on processing of large-scale cell culture or microbial fermentation steps under cGMP regulatory conditions.
• Processing steps include:
• Small scale/scale-up from vial thaw
• End of production
• Media preparation
• Operation of stainless steel and single use bioreactors
• Harvest operations
• CIP, SIP, washer and autoclave operation
• In addition to manufacturing responsibilities, may be working on projects and assignments where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required.

Skills and Requirements:

• B.S. degree in science or equivalent required.
• 1-4 years of work experience required.
• Demonstrable project management skills.
• Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
• Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
• Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
