Associate Scientist

This Associate Scientist job is an exciting opportunity to join one of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies in their R&D team. This leading Swiss pharmaceutical company are currently looking to hire a Associate Scientist to be based at their site in Basel. The Particle Lab provides analytical support for biopharmaceutical protein development projects by using modern test methods for particle characterization. As part of a service lab, the applicant will work at several interfaces (e.g. formulation/ process development, physico-chemical analytics). Main tasks will consist in planning and performing routine analyses in a wet lab and evaluate and document the results under the supervision of the lab head. It also includes maintenance of lab equipment and troubleshooting.

Skills and Requirements:

• Laboratory technician with several years of experience - or Master degree in a relevant life science discipline.
• Experience in the field of particle characterization (e.g. MFI or FlowCam, Light Obscuration with HIAC or PAMAS, Dynamic/ Static Light Scattering DLS/MALLS, Nano tracking analysis NTA, Archimedes) or analytics (ideally protein analytics).
• Critical and objective interpretation of results and scientific information.
• Good technical and IT skills.
• Interest in learning new instrumentation.
• Very good organizational, communication and team skills.
• Fluent in English and good knowledge of MS Office software.
• Optional: Additional programming skills (e.g. R).
