Proclinical, in support of our client, are seeking an individual to fill the role of Associate Director of Cell Process Development, based in New Jersey. This position will report to the Senior Director in R&D, and will lead and work closely with internal and external partners to ensure the development and execution of the processing and characterization activities.

Responsibilities

Design, guide and execute the large-scale manufacturing of CAR-T and other cell type in a closed system
Design experiment to optimize process parameters, enhance cell engineering and manufacturing capacity,apply Quality by design principles and design of experiment methodologies.
Develop and lead studies that employ media development, cell isolation, cell activation, cell expansion, formulation/fill and cryopreservation.
Initiate and play cross-functional collaborations with research and analytical stakeholders.
Review and contribute to authoring of batch records and SOPs.
Stay alert to industry development, keep good relationship with vendors.

Skills And Qualifications

MA/PhD in a related field with 1-6 years of relevant experience.
Experience in allogenic cell processing development and manufacturing is required

Prior cell therapy knowledge and working experience in large-scale cell manufacturing is a plus
Experience with cell therapy automation technologies.
Experience in GMP manufacturing of Biologics and working with external partners such as CROs and CMOs; Knowledge of cell therapies, viral vectors GMP manufacturing is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership to manage projects in a matrixed environment.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as a command of the English language. Knowledge of Mandarin a plus.
Approximately 20% of travel required.
