A global biotechnology company is advertising a vacancy for an Account Executive, covering their UK territory. The organisation, which provides automated laboratory instruments and solutions, is seeking for an applicant to join their London and Cambridge teams in a field-based capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for applicants with experience in the pharmaceutical commercial fields.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting, developing, and closing sales at or above goal in assigned territory.
  • Participating in lead generation for sales through routine account penetration.
  • Contacting prospective customers to determine product needs and performing sales presentations to match those identified needs.
  • Developing and maintaining high-level customer satisfaction and retention through one-on-one contact with current and potential customers.
  • Developing and implementing plans to achieve assigned sales growth and product mix.
  • Actively participating in sales meetings, providing quality input and follow-up actions.
  • Working closely with commercial colleagues and global marketing team to develop tactics and programs and team sell (as appropriate).
  • Maintaining CRM by adding new contacts, opportunities, generating quotes, keeping all customer information current and providing accurate forecast information for the territory.

Skills and Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Life Sciences required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record selling complex, technical life science products or solutions
  • Strong knowledge of biotech/academic accounts within territory strongly
  • Field sales/field applications experience, including consultative selling to customers
  • Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing technologies and knowledge of top NGS platforms, applications and tools providers required
  • Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills, and enjoy working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
