Upstream Associate Scientist - New Haven, CT - Contract

Proclinical is actively seeking an Upstream Associate Scientist. This is a contract position located in New Haven, CT.

Primary Responsibilities:

his role is focused on performing routine upstream lab activities, executing experimental studies, and documenting results. The successful candidate will also be responsible for laboratory management and will be expected to communicate scientific findings to colleagues.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in aseptic technique to support mammalian cell culture.
  • Collaborative and effective communication skills.
  • Strong learning agility to learn new techniques.

The Upstream Associate Scientist will:

  • Perform routine upstream lab activities including medium preparation, seed train passages, bioreactor sampling, and analyzer maintenance.
  • Execute experimental studies to develop, optimize, and characterize upstream processes for therapeutic protein candidates.
  • Support scale-up of processes at pilot scale.
  • Document study results in notebooks and technical reports.
  • Coordinate laboratory management including ordering and maintenance.
  • Communicate scientific findings to colleagues within the group through informal presentations.
  • Provide weekend support on critical upstream activities on a rotation basis.
