Electrical Engineer - Indianapolis, IN - Permanent

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and innovative Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Operations Team. This is a permanent position located in Indianapolis, IN.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from the ideation and design of new products to the stewardship of existing products. As an Electrical Engineer III, you will be responsible for managing and executing product design related tasks, participating in cross-functional teams, and ensuring project completion within the framework of our quality management system.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in medical device design is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of circuit board layout, design, and manufacturing (both with digital and analog electronics), documentation, and testing in the RF range both low level and high-power signals up to several hundred watts.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers, impedance analyzers, and power meters.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical assemblies: power, cabling, signaling, interfacing, RF, and shielding.
  • Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies: servo motors, stepper motors, and actuators.
  • Microcontroller use design and programming experience Preferred.
  • Multi-layer circuit design, schematic capture, prototyping.
  • Altium experience desired.
  • Design work under ISO 13485 a plus.

The Electrical Engineer will:

  • Provide technical support for existing and new products, developing solutions primarily of an electrical/circuit nature.
  • Research and implement the replacement of end-of-life components, sustaining current product design intents.
  • Participate in the design of new products, systems, and sub-systems.
  • Generate test protocols and reports, executing product testing within our laboratory.
  • Project planning and execution, interfacing with all functional areas affected by products.
  • Maintain Design History Files and Technical File Documentation.
  • Lead and assist with issues related to CAPAs, customer complaints, and manufacturing processes.
  • Present project status to stakeholders, management, and teams.
  • Assist manufacturing with testing and troubleshooting during startup of manufacturing.
  • Provide direction and/or support to other Engineers.
  • Serve as mentor and advisor to junior members of the Engineering Operations Team.
  • Drive new technology to improve productivity and efficiency.
